Construction trucks are expected to go just about anywhere. On any road or where there’s no road. Up and down steep gradients, along uneven winding tracks, across open land on barely marked routes. One day the ground can be soft and slippery, with trucks axle-deep in mud or sand. The next day, the terrain may be completely different: hard, rutted and unyielding.
Scania therefore made an extra effort during development work on the trucks to be able to offer transport solutions which are highly mobile in various terrain found in construction applications; trucks which are reliable and long lasting even when exposed to tough conditions. They are also able to carry a sufficient load to make operations profitable. The construction truck is designed to an extend that mounting of bodywork is easy and fast. Even the working environment is appointed so that the driver is affected as little as possible by the tough conditions often present outside.
The Scania construction trucks are built to get about where other trucks can’t. When driving off-road, it is necessary to negotiate rocks and other hindrances without getting stuck, but maintaining balance. It meets the mobility requirements in all respects.
The front axle and rear axle gears with hub reduction, especially the RBP and RP735, provide good ground clearance. All chassis equipment is located high up while the centre of gravity is low.
Scania's small turning circle is a great advantage as it provides good manoeuvrability and makes it faster and easier to move in tight spots.
Vehicles with a conventional manual gearbox also have the option of a clutch monitoring system that will prolong service life and ensure smooth and precise operation all day long, day in, day out.
You’ll find a spacious P day cab, plus a short P cab to choose from.
