Scania offers the new K-series chassis for city buses. The K-chassis has the engine placed longitudinally behind the rearmost axle. This chassis is able to meet the requirements for a city bus, with low entry and low-floored deck.

A new 9-litre five cylinder engine – 230 hp – equipped with Scania EGR guarantees compliance with Euro 4 at all times and in all driving conditions.
Precision steering and a new pneumatically controlled adjustable steering wheel is simple to adjust and lock into position. Ergonomically designed for relaxed driving, fingertip control and easy access to and from the driver’s seat.
Improved brake performance with a new electronic braking system including antilock disc brakes for shorter braking distances and faster response.
Pendant pedals raise driver comfort by using the correct leg muscles for pedal operation. They also provide more space and make the driver’s area easier to clean and maintain.
A new ergonomically designed driver station with logically positioned controls includes a new instrument cluster with enhanced displays, a new multifunctional lever for lights and wipers and direction indicators.
New fuel-saving features include an innovative air processing system that uses surplus energy to fill the air tanks, and a new five-speed automatic gearbox that achieves higher torque at low speeds for enhanced fuel economy. The five-speed ZF automatic transmission ensures smoother gearshift characteristics and better fuel economy as compared to the normal four-speed automatic transmission.
New uptime-enhancing features include a CAN-bus electrical system with more functionality but less wiring and fewer components.
