It is confirmed! Scania’s new flagship - the Scania R 730 and powered by the industry’s most powerful engine - is headed to Singapore.

Featuring the new Scania 730 hp V8 engine, the heavy haulage 6x4 tractor truck will be unveiled in the second quarter of 2011.

“We’re proud that Singapore will be the first market in the region to put Scania’s new flagship on the road,” said Mr Victor Ong, Marketing Manager for Scania Singapore Pte Ltd.

“Scania has traditionally been strong in the heavy haulage segment in Singapore and in the region, and the strong order book we have for our heavy haulage vehicles – consisting of the Scania R 560, Scania R 620 and now the new Scania R 730 – is testament to the legendary power and reliability Scania V8 engine; and the strength of our products,” he added.

The first Scania R 730 – a 6x4 tractor unit will soon be operating with Hup Hin Transport (who also purchased a Scania R 560 heavy haulage tractor).  This is part of the total of 5 heavy haulage trucks sold by Scania Singapore in 2010.
