Kevin Fast Pulls Two Scanias Car Carriers!
One-time Guinness World Record Holder Mr Kevin Fast was in action at The Float @ Marina Bay, Singapore recently, pulling two Scania P 310 car carriers – and a total of 10 Volkswagen cars loaded on them – with a total weight of 50 tonnes.
While still not quite near his record of pulling a CC-177 Globemaster III aircraft weighing some 189 tonnes, this feat was extremely challenging with the combination of the uneven ground surface and sweltering heat.
However, Mr Fast commented just before the pull, “The heat is actually good as it is easier to get warmed up.”
It was nerve wrecking for the organizers of the event, as right up to the pull itself, even Kevin wasn’t 100% confident he would be able to achieve the feat. A two-hour practice session the day before the pull saw him battling with the uneven ground surface which effectively were bump stops for the truck, and he could only pull 1 Scania car carrier for a few meters.
But on the day of the pull itself, sheer determination – plus a rowdy crowd edging him on – saw Mr Fast pull the 50 tonne combination a total of 20 meters.
