Scania has identified the growth potential in the South East Asia region. Distributors in Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand were established in 2000 to provide first-class sales and after-sales support. A network of wholly-owned workshops by Scania CV AB is built in Thailand, Malaysia and Singapore to support the customers of the region. Today 5 workshops on the road between Singapore and Bangkok are certified according to the Dealer Operating Standard, ensuring that stringent world-wide standards for working methods and customer treatment are implemented. Two more will be certified in 2007.
Singapore, geographically positioned as a distribution hub and the busiest port here, has expansion opportunities in the transportation of containers and other haulage requirements. Buses and coaches is another area which is expanding where cross border movement between Singapore and Malaysia has increased. Service and support for customers is readily accessible and prompt.
