- Full-flow filters
- Resistant to vibration and shock
An oil filter has to stop impurities from entering the engine and still allow a full flow in order to lubricate and cool parts under load. Scanias from 4-series and forward have full-flow oil filters with paper elements through which the oil flows in its entirety.
Scania oil filters are tested under operational conditions in special test cells at the Scania laboratory and also in operating vehicles. These tests are conducted to evaluate the filter’s ability to resist engine vibration, shock waves from the oil pump and the considerable stresses of cold starting.
Using a filter that does not meet correct Scania specifications may result in contaminated oil being supplied to the engine, with the risk of serious damage. And finally, in some markets where unscrupulous parts dealers are active, we have opened up counterfeit parts and found – if you can believe it – no paper filter at all!
Using Scania oil filters is a good way to avoid engine wear and the risk of unnecessary breakdowns.
